Purchase the blend as a gift package complete with a 12oz bag and a sleek, black Fonté Kleen Kanteen for only $35. The Holiday Blend gift package is available for purchase online or at Fonté Café, located at 1321 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101.

Shanik’s Indian Gift Set with Turkish Wine
Spice it up this holiday season and gift family and friends the opportunity to cook with Shanik’s housemade spices, drink fine Turkish wine, and serve up a delicious, healthy side dish.
Chef-owner Meeru Dhalwala of Shanik is combining three special items for Shanik’s holiday gift package this year: a Masala Dhaba spice set, Diren Karmena Red Blend wine, and a Cauliflower Potato Purée recipe.
The Masala Dhaba spice set is a staple in every Indian household. Shanik hand-sifts, roasts, and grinds the spices in-house. The traditional spice set includes Garam Masala, ground red cayenne pepper, roasted cumin seed, roasted ground cumin seed, dried fenugreek leaves and ground coriander.
Meeru is excited to include a special Turkish wine with her gift sets this year: a 2011 Diren Karmena Red Blend. The Karmena Red blend consists of five different grapes, indigenous to Turkey and international variety. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot make up the balanced and delicious Red Blend, giving it body, spiciness and supple character.
Rounding out the package is an exceptional recipe from Shanik’s kitchen, Cauliflower Potato Purée. The recipe is a perfect substitute for rice, bread, or plain mashed potatoes. Shanik serves its Cauliflower Potato Purée with many of their grilled or seared meats.
The complete gift package with Masala Dhaba spice set, Diren Karmena Red Blend wine, and Cauliflower Potato Purée recipe is $50, and is available at Shanik’s Market, next door to the restaurant. Shanik is located at 500 Terry Avenue North Seattle, WA 98109.
