Mother’s Day To-Go From Local Restaurants 04.29.20
With the stay-home-order in place for this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations, local restaurants are preparing Mother’s Day brunch and dinner to-go!
Although gatherings may be smaller this year, there are a variety of ways to celebrate with the family at home whether it’s serving a delicious breakfast in bed, enjoying brunch together, or digging into a spring-inspired dinner! Plus, special add on gifts from local vendors are also available for pickup.

Breakfast in Bed To-Go at Cafe Flora
This year Cafe Flora is adapting their annual Mother’s Day Prix-Fixe menu to allow for curbside pickup so moms can stay home (and even stay in bed) for brunch on their special day.
The prix-fixe menu will be fully prepared and packaged up so the food is easily transportable, including reheating instructions so guests can prepare a fresh brunch on Mother’s Day morning. The menu is $45 per adult and comes with fresh baked pastries (gluten-free pastries available), fresh fruit, an entrée and a dessert. Each are generously portioned for one person.
Entrée options include Spring Asparagus Quiche, and Tamal con Nopales (vegan and gluten-free), a grilled corn tamale on a bed of pilaf, grilled cactus and covered in tomatillo sauce topped with fresh mango-jicama lime salsa.
If guests are serving brunch for the whole family, kid’s menus are $20 per child and include entrée options such as French Toast Bread Pudding and Vegan Breakfast Platter (vegan and gluten-free) with scrambled tofu and a side of roasted potatoes. Each kid’s meal is served with fresh fruit and pastries (gluten-free pastries available).
There’s also the option to add Bloody Mary and Mimosa Kits to complete the meal!
Cafe flora has also partnered with some of their favorite makers, growers, and producers to offer special gifts for mom, like Fran’s Chocolates, flower bouquets from Alm Hill Gardens, specialty wines, and more. Family Brunch To-Go from Cooks Tavern and Endolyne Joe’s
Cooks Tavern in Tacoma and Endolyne Joe’s in West Seattle are gearing up for Mother’s Day with a special ‘Mama’s Day Brunch Kit’ for families of four and up, ready-to-reheat at home for Mother’s Day brunch!
Guests will have the option to choose from Three Little Pigs Strata with ham, sausage, bacon and cheddar cheese or Spring Vegetable Strata with asparagus, bell pepper, cauliflower, and brie cheese, plus Cherry Crumble Coffee-Cake, Fruit Cocktail with melons, pineapple, and berries and cream cheese yogurt dip and a Mixed Green Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette. Guests can add a ‘Mom-osa’ Kit featuring a Bottle of Bubbles and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice for an additional $25.

Mother’s Day At-Home Cooking Inspiration from Washington Asparagus
Nothing says spring like fresh Washington asparagus! This year locals are invited to treat mom to the flavors of spring with Washington Asparagus Recipes to enjoy at home. From quiches and scrambled eggs to a garnish for Bloody Marys, shaved in salads, roasted or grilled, there are a variety of ways to incorporate asparagus into the celebration!

Family-Style Sushi Platter To-Go from Shiro’s Sushi
Shiro’s Sushi is offering a special Mother’s Day sushi menu, available to-go for at home celebrations!
Their Family-Style Sushi Platter includes a variety of fresh nigiri including medium fatty tuna, tuna, sockeye salmon, salmon, albacore tuna, shrimp (boiled), sea eel, and zuke (marinated) salmon. It also includes six pieces of cucumber rolls, and six pieces of naga-imo rolls (Chinese yam with plum paste) and two signature Tamago egg omelets.
Any mom who’s a sushi lover with appreciate this feast on her special day! To complete the meal, bottles of sake are also available for takeaway.

A Menu for Two Hearts at The Herbfarm
While intoxicatingly romantic every night, Valentine’s 2017 brings it all to an amorous crescendo at The Herbfarm. Champagne, roses and the restaurants annual aphrodisiac affair is set to Cupid’s divine beat. Guests will lose also themselves to the strains of “My Funny Valentine.”

Heat Up Valentine’s Weekend at Miller’s Guild
Chef Jason Wilson has created a five-course Valentines menu of wood-grilled craft cooking at this popular downtown Seattle restaurant, Miller’s Guild. Priced at $95 per person and including a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, enjoy Feb. 10-14, all weekend long (Friday through Tuesday).
The five-course menu includes an amuse of Ahi Tuna Crudo with Taylor Shellfish Oyster Chowder and Dry Aged Beef Carpaccio; a Dungeness Crab Salad with Celery Root, Black Truffle, Green Apple and Blood Orange; Grilled Wild Sea Bass, with Asparagus, Saffron and Chorizo; and Grilled Dry Aged Beef Tenderloin, with Red Wine Wild Mushroom Sauce, Kale Pesto and Ash Roasted Potato. Finish with a dessert of the Chocolate Olive Oil, Salted Caramel, Cherry Root Beer Sundae.

Pair Beautiful Backdrops + Seafood at Ray’s
Treat your loved one to a beautiful meal at Seattle’s iconic seafood restaurant for a Valentine’s celebration starting Feb. 10 going all the way through Feb. 14. With waterfront views of Puget Sound and the majestic snow-capped Olympic Mountains as your backdrop, it’s the perfect setting for romance.
Ray’s Boathouse will offer a three-course menu with many decadent options for each course (all for $60; last seating at 10 p.m. on Valentine’s Day). Options include starters of Grilled Romaine with Ceviche of Oregon Bay shrimp and scallops, Tempura Oysters with wakame salad; entrees such as a Petite Filet with Alaskan Spot Prawns, Confit of Duck Legs, and Herbed Risotto; and desserts such as Double Chocolate Panna Cotta, Chocolate Mousse with raspberry cream and brandy brittle, and more. The Boathouse’s regular menu is also available throughout.
Ray’s Cafe, along with its regular lunch and dinner menu, will offer elegant surf and turf options and drink specials! The café’s last seating on Valentine’s Day is 9 p.m.
Love oysters? Feb. 10-12 don’t miss a very limited, tantalizing treat: six Olympia oysters with a glass of Schramsberg sparkling wine for $29. These native bivalves, which take five years to mature, were first introduced in 1983 at Ray’s by oyster aficionado Jon Rowley. They’re back at the Boathouse for this special weekend while supplies last!

Feel at Home with Four-Course Prix-Fixe at Tilth
Situated in a craftsman house converted to restaurant, Tilth is a standard-bearing restaurant for New American cuisine prepared with certified-organic or wild ingredients, offering a four-course Valentine’s dinner with optional wine pairings (available Feb. 10 – 11 and Tues., Feb. 14).
Choose from such first course options as Shugoku Oysters with blood orange pearl and cucumber; a salad of Red Beets Tartare or Skagit River Ranch Beef Tongue. Move into Sylvia’s Spot Prawn, Parsnip Soup or Beet Risotto; and savor third-course entrees such as Seared Weathervane Scallop, Smoked Heirloom Bean Cassoulet, or Leek Ash-Crusted Venison (additional $10). Desserts include Theo Chocolate Ganache Cake or Cashew Cheesecake with orange and cranberry to round out a fabulous meal.

Italian + Vegetarian Prix-Fixe Menus at Agrodolce
Adopt the language of love for a night with Agrodolce’s Southern Italian and Sicilian fare in a special three-course menu or four-course vegetarian menu Feb. 10-12 and Feb. 14.
The sharable menu starts with Grilled Octopus Tentacle, celery root, grilled endive, spicy pine nut and currant salsa verde. The second course includes Pugliese Style Burrata; followed by Aspen Hollow Lamb with roasted grapes, oil cured olives and rosemary balsamic glaze; concluded with Chocolate Polenta Cake.
Vegetarians sip on Celery Root, Carrot and Poached Beet Soup; then move onto House Milled Durum Spaghetti with mushrooms and black truffle. The third course brings Zucchini and Ricotta Lasagnetta or Grilled Chicories; followed by the ever-popular Chocolate Polenta Cake.

Couples eager to impress with Valentine’s cocktails can take the Couples Mixology Class on Feb 11, 1-3 pm at Young American Ale House. Queen Anne’s stylish avante-garde, New American restaurant has a prix-fixe five-course, Valentine’s menu exclusively planned for guests on Feb. 14.
The first three courses at Eden Hill include sea urchin and red shrimp toast; kumato (specialty tomato) tartare; and a sumptuous third course of veal tortellini. The fourth, main course is a wild boar rack rolled in berber, fermented pomme fondant, wild blueberry vinegar, and Stilton bleu. The decadence continues with the fifth course, an Oregon hazelnut Paris-brest, foie gras praline, lemon thyme, and dark chocolate syrup. Also enjoy the charming mignardises-candied flower bouquet.

Cafe Flora is offering a delicious four-course Valentine’s Day menu that’s not only masterfully vegetarian, it’s also available as vegan and gluten-free.
Dinner starts with a Scallion Pancake, flavorful with ginger and sesame eggplant, peanut sauce, and rice wine vinaigrette; a salad course of Pomelo and Blood Orange Segments with bitter greens, pine nuts, ricotta cheese and a pomegranate reduction; and a third course of Chickpea Socca Fritters, asparagus and haricot vert, roasted purple carrot, spiced tomato sauce, sour cherry and green mango chutney with a citrus and maple dressing. First Date or Long-Time Love at Altstadt
A lively, lovely Valentine’s date happens at Pioneer Square’s favorite spot for German beer and cuisine, Altstadt. Festivities begin Feb. 10 and continue through Feb. 14, starting with a delicious collaboration with Intrigue Chocolates.
Sample a German beer and chocolate flight ($12) including four chocolates and four beers. Included is Intrigue’s brandy and cherry truffle, created exclusively for Altstadt. Try the Valentine’s cocktail made with cocoa bean brandy, Kirschwasser, and nutmeg ($12). Also, because Valentine’s Day isn’t complete without a chocolate gift, take home an Intrigue chocolate bar ($15) as a great gift idea, available for sale in the restaurant. Cafe Flora Celebrates 25 Years this October! 09.26.16
Cafe Flora in Madison Valley is turning 25 this October! It began as a pioneer in local farm-to-table vegetarian dining in 1991, working with small farms, before it was common practice among restaurants. Since then they have been recognized nationally for their award-winning, creative vegetarian dishes in Bon Appetit, The Food Network, Vegetarian Times, Travel + Leisure and more.
Cafe Flora is a staple in the Seattle community and a beloved gathering place for Madison Valley residents. They were founded by three friends who wanted to create a place for locals to gather and also support the opening of the Bailey-Boushay House. The restaurant took off, enticing diners with flavorful and hearty vegetarian dishes with international flavors and farm-to-table produce. They have been a leader in local, sustainable, vegetarian and vegan dining ever since, growing to include an extensive and excellent selection of gluten free offerings.

Bell + Whete Gastropub + Events is celebrating Valentine’s weekend with a gorgeous, four-course menu by new Executive Chef Jenny Izaguirre. From February 12-14 guest can enjoy four courses for $45, with an optional beverage for $25.
Start with Truffled Cannellini Bean Soup with herbed beetroot, followed by a second course of Tricolore Salad with grapes, pecorino and white balsamic. The main course offers a choice of either Herbed Porchetta with sweet potato and lobster hash or a vegetarian option of Farroto with ratatouille and leeks. End your meal with a rich Brioche Bread Pudding with white chocolate and preserved kumquat.

Local 360 Café & Bar
Local 360 Café & Bar is celebrating Valentine’s Day all weekend with a decadent three-course menu, locally-sourced within 360 miles of Seattle. Add a local wine flight of four pours for $20 or two 375ml bottles of wine including L’Ecole Chardonnay and L’Ecole Syrah for $42.
In addition to their special three-course menu Local 360 will also offer Rack of Lamb for two as their Chefs Cut along with a few original sides from February 12-14.
Three-course menu begins with an amuse of Sunchoke Cappuccino, Bacon & Carrot Beignet, then a Cold Smoked Black Cod with crème fraiche, beet and turnip, variations of egg and puffed grain. Main course brings Oregon Bison Loin with foie gras and black trumpet gratin, rutabaga and porcini. To finish the evening, enjoy their Pear “Tart Tatin” with buttermilk flan and single malt caramel.

Eden Hill
Chef Maximillian Petty debuts his first Valentine’s menu in Seattle by featuring indulgent ingredients such as bone marrow butter, foie gras and duck heart tartare in a five-course Valentine’s menu, offered February 12-14.
Eden Hill treats diners with Fermented Beet Pavlova with house goat cheese mousse, black sturgeon caviar; and Parker House Rolls with bone marrow butter before the first course even begins. Then indulge in Fermented Cauliflower Soup, ras el hanout, apple, filbert, parsley root followed by a second-course of Rabbit Porchetta, sunchoke espuma, mustard caviar, sherry, saskatoon, foie gras. The third-course tempts dinners with Duck Heart Tartare, caper, tomato petal, green olive, fermented and roasted red chili, citron confit tapioca chip, marbled quail egg. Diners will continue their culinary journey with Wagyu Beef Shortrib, parsnip, goldenraisin, almond, chanterelle, chili, dark chocolate mole coloradito, black garlic. Yellow Beet Root, mandarin, roasted white chocolate, yeast sponge cake, caramelized honey completes the fifth-course.

AgrodolceItalians know the language of love, which is interpreted at Maria Hines’ Southern Italian and Sicilian inspired restaurant, Agrodolce. Classic southern Italian cuisine receives the touch of a James Beard Award-winning chef in a four-course dinner on Valentine’s Day.
For a starter, enjoy St. Jude’s Albacore Crudo with bronte pistachio, preserved kumquat and Sicilian olive oil. Golden Beetle
The many countries that surround the Mediterranean take center stage at Maria Hines’ Golden Beetle. With a new, refreshed interior and wood-fronting exterior, Golden Beetle is ready to graciously host on Valentine’s Day.
Diners can start with Beet Carpaccio with goat cheese, toasted hazelnut and orange supreme. Second course options tempt with a seasonal favorite of Crispy Harissa Marinated Cauliflower with preserved lemon, castelvetrano, cucumber puree or Cod Fritters with pickled blueberry pepper, romesco aioli and arugula. The main course features Butter Poached Gulf Shrimp with fennel, blood orange, rainbow chard; and Pan Seared Spic Crusted Lamb Loin with currant, wilted spinach, purple potato gratin. For the sweet tooth, end dinner with Theo’s Chocolate Mousse Parfait or Kabocha Squash Panna Cotta.

Chef Maria Hines’ first restaurant, Tilth, delivers a memorable dining experience any night of the year, but this Valentine’s Day, guests will feel the romance with candlelight and a beautiful four-course prix-fixe menu on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14.
Shugoku Oysters are dressed up with cucumber, apple, and yuzu “mignonette” or select the Skagit River Ranch Beef Tongue, treated with house pickles, apple mustard and shishito. A Slow Cooked Duck Egg with duck confit, pickled crosnes, and orange present a tempting second course, followed by Seared Weathervane Scallop with baby shiitake, smoked leek and watercress, or choose the Porcini Ash-crusted Venison with swiss chard, anson mills corn polenta and Saskatoon berry. The finale comes with Yarmuth Farms Goat Cheese Parfait or Cashew Cheesecake.

Cafe Flora has created another swoon-worthy Valentine’s menu filled with indulgent options all while remaining seasonal, local, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free friendly.
The first course begins with Spiced King Oyster Mushrooms with Okinawa purple potato,
roasted turnip with bitter greens, cilantro sauce and candied kumquat. Second course offers Green Papaya & Rainbow Carrot Ribbons with tat soi, ripe papaya, spiced cashew-macadamia nut brittle, grapefruit and serrano dressing. For the main enjoy mouth-watering Meyer Lemon & Butternut Squash Risotto Cake with grilled asparagus, Belgian endive, roasted beet sauce and pistachio pistou.
