    Cafe Flora in Madison Valley is turning 25 this October! It began as a pioneer in local farm-to-table vegetarian dining in 1991, working with small farms, before it was common practice among restaurants. Since then they have been recognized nationally for their award-winning, creative vegetarian dishes in Bon Appetit, The Food Network, Vegetarian Times, Travel + Leisure and more.

    Cafe Flora is a staple in the Seattle community and a beloved gathering place for Madison Valley residents. They were founded by three friends who wanted to create a place for locals to gather and also support the opening of the Bailey-Boushay House. The restaurant took off, enticing diners with flavorful and hearty vegetarian dishes with international flavors and farm-to-table produce. They have been a leader in local, sustainable, vegetarian and vegan dining ever since, growing to include an extensive and excellent selection of gluten free offerings.

    To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Cafe Flora will feature a special Greatest Hits dinner menu designed by four of Cafe Flora’s notable chefs from the last 25 years, including founding chef Jim Watkins, and a kick off night of roll back 1991 prices. They will also donate a percentage of drink sales for the month of October to Bailey-Boushay House.     October 3-6: Greatest Hits Menu Continues
    From October 3-6 the dinner menu will go back to 2016 pricing for a la carte and the four-course tasting menu at $45 per person. The wine and cocktail pairing will remain at $25 from October 3-6 and for the month of October a percentage of sales from select wine and cocktails will be donated to Bailey-Boushay House.

    Afternoon Tea- Mommy and Me (8 years+), May 8- What better way to spend Mother’s Day than learning to bake delightful old-fashioned tea party goodies? In this hands-on class, cookbook author, Gill Dey, will teach guests how to make elegant Salmon Pinwheel Sandwiches, light Fresh Cream Scones and more. The course runs from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $75 for one adult and one child eight years or older.

     

    The Mother’s Day Three-Course Dinner, May 8- Treat Mom to a cooking class at Whisk and learn to make a restaurant-quality three-course dinner together with the help of chef Aaron Tekulve, a recent contestant on Chopped . Students will learn how to create
    Chinook Salmon with baby fennel, asparagus, morels and lemon crème fraiche and more. This course runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs $110 per person.

    Bell + Whete, opened in Belltown this summer, has become known for their old world comfort dishes prepared with a modern twist. This Thanksgiving the restaurant will be showcasing classic dishes inspired from the Norman cuisine of the 10th century.

    Bell + Whete’s “Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner” is $28 and comes complete with Cider Brined Free Range Turkey prepared on the rotisserie, Crushed Potatoes, Gravy from the drippings, Green Beans with mustard vinaigrette and shallots, Stewed Cranberries, Bannock (homemade flatbread), and Pumpkin Pie with spiced Chantilly cream. James Beard Award-winning Chef Maria Hines opened Agrodolce with a mission to bring authentic Sicilian fare, crafted with the finest organic and sustainable ingredients, to Seattle. Maria has assembled a culinary feast this Thanksgiving, and yes, there is turkey, prepared with classic Sicilian flavors.

    Chef Sam Crannell’s special menus have become loved by the neighborhood and destination diners. Valentine’s Day is no exception with a three-course plus shared dessert tasting menu. Chef Sam creates dishes based on what his purveyors bring to his restaurant each and every day and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Guests can expect indulgent and themed dishes with Gougeres, Squab, Lobster, Filet Mignon, Foie Gras, and Oysters.

    Tilth Celebrates Valentine’s Weekend

    Tilth gives reason for a weekend-long romance with a special prix-fixe dinner on Friday, Feb. 14 and a special prix-fixe brunch on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 15-16). Guests can choose a four-course prix-fixe dinner including Savory Apple Soup, Ricotta Gnudi with chili butter, St. Jude’s Albacore Tuna A La Plancha, and Dark Chocolate Sorbet with shaved chocolate and holmquist hazelnut.
