    DECEMBER EVENTS

     

    Holiday Champagne Fete at RN74 Dec. 1-31, Tasting Dec. 8

    Holiday-goers are invited to pop the cork at RN74 all month long with a list of unique champagnes offered by the glass and as flights. On Saturday, December 8, 1:30-3:30 p.m., guests will sample some of the restaurant’s best champagnes from their recently expanded cellar, as well as special bottles brought in for the holidays. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a flight of unique top champagnes, and champagne-focused discussion with RN74’s award-winning sommelier Jeff Lindsay-Thorsen and Paul Swanson.

     

    The holiday festivities kick off December 1 with eight champagnes available nightly by the glass and as flights (four glass flights and an eight-glass flight) during dinner service for the full month, including New Year’s Eve. The champagnes are hand selected by the restaurant’s sommelier team, focusing on bottles that are not often available by the glass, allowing for tasting rare bubbles.

    Ray’s Café Gingerbread House Decorating Party and Drive Dec. 9

    Locals are invited to join Ray’s Café on Sunday, December 9 for an all-ages Gingerbread House Decorating event and drive benefitting Mary’s Place to help local families in need.

     

    The $12 price includes the gingerbread house building kit and supplies including icing and festive candy plus complimentary hot chocolate. Each guest does not need to purchase a kit to participate, they can be shared within a party.

     

    The event will take place on the Café’s heated and covered patio and participants should dress warm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

     

    Reservations are required, and two time slots are available: 11:30 a.m. or 1:45 p.m. Guests can call 206.789.3770 to reserve.

     

    Ray’s is asking participants to bring twin blankets and/or baby formula to the event. These are two high-needs items at Mary’s Place that will make a huge difference in the lives of struggling families.

    The Holly and the Ivy at The Herbfarm

    The Herbfarm invites guests to join in the merriment of the season with a beautiful nine-course dinner with wine pairings hand selected from their 26,000-bottle cellar. The fire will crackle, and the dining room will be dressed from head to toe in festive décor.

     

    Dinner ranges from $225-$285 per person depending on the date and will be served from November 30-December 23 with date exclusions. Reservations are required.     Nine-Course Holiday Dinner at Shiro’s Sushi Dec 21-24

    Diners who are looking for something outside the traditional holiday offerings are invited to partake in a special nine-course holiday sushi dinner prepared by the experienced sushi chefs at Shiro’s Sushi from December 21-24.

     

    Menu highlights include:

    – Filefish Sashimi, fish liver and ponzu

    – Sea Chicken Salad, sesame soy dressing

    – Hokkaido Scallop Hand Roll

    – Wild Yellowtail, boiled Japanese daikon radish with Sukiyaki Style

    Shiro’s Sushi is offering its nine-course holiday dinner December 21-24 for $100 per person with reservations available 5:30-10:30 p.m. Reservations are required and must be made by December 20.     Ray’s Boathouse will be open on Christmas Eve from 2-8 p.m. and will be serving a special holiday-inspired three-course menu including salad, entrée, and dessert for $60. The regular dinner menu will also be available and includes dishes such as Alaskan King Crab Legs, Dungeness Crab Toast, Sablefish, delicious house-made desserts and more.

    Seafood Favorites at Ray’s Café

    Ray’s Boathouse is offering a delicious seasonally-inspired three-course menu on Christmas Day. The meal includes soup or salad, choice of entrée, and dessert for $60 per person (beverages, tax, and gratuity not included). Guests will enjoy sweeping views of the Puget Sound as they feast on this festive menu. The Boathouse bar will be open with the three-course menu available, no reservations taken.

    The Moon and The Stars at The Herbfarm

    The holiday season reaches a peak with ‘The Moon and The Stars’ at The Herbfarm.     Valentine’s Day Dinner at Belltown Brewing

    A romantic evening at a Brewhouse is a fun way to mix it up this Valentine’s Day! Indulge in a three-course meal and beer pairing flight this February 14 at Belltown Brewing. Start your evening with Pancetta Fennel Salad and Vichyssoise Soup. Continue with delicious Pork Chops with kale, onions, and garlic greens, Hasselback potatoes, and a pepper cream sauce. For dessert, revel in Strawberries and Strawberry Gastrique served over vanilla ice cream with mint whip and a waffle cone.

     

    Add an optional $12 beer pairing flight including the following Belltown Brewing beers:

     

    Chain Bite Black IPA, a beautiful black IPA with a burst of piney and citrus hop aroma and flavor. Pairs with soup and salad course.

     

    Watermain Amber, a balanced American amber ale, with light and dark roasted caramel malts, as well as Munich malt to provide a well-rounded malt backbone for Simcoe and Amarillo hops that bring notes of pine and stone fruit. Pairs with the entrée course.

     

    Bell St. Wheat with Apricots, Oregon apricot purée is added to the fermenter post-fermentation. Pairs perfectly with the dessert course.

  • Kirkland Farm to Table Dinner spotlights local chefs for a great cause, August 26 08.18.17

     

    The second annual Kirkland Farm to Table Dinner returns this month on August 26 on the beautiful Carillon Point Plaza, overlooking Lake Washington. For the second year, Chef Jason Wilson (of The Lakehouse, Miller’s Guild and Civility & Unrest) will be cooking authentic, delicious, craft-cooking, and this year he’s invited fellow chefs to cook alongside him, including chefs from The Herbfarm, Cedarbrook Lodge, DERU, and the Woodmark’s Bin on the Lake.  This year’s outdoor dinner includes a silent auction with an exciting array of experiences to bid on, from a craft cooking class to a two-hour cocktail experience at Civility & Unrest, all of the proceeds benefit Food Lifeline. The dinner and silent auction take place on Saturday, August 26 from 6-10 pm. The best part – there are still a few tickets available!

    Heat Up Valentine’s Weekend at Miller’s Guild

     

     

    Chef Jason Wilson has created a five-course Valentines menu of wood-grilled craft cooking at this popular downtown Seattle restaurant, Miller’s Guild. Priced at $95 per person and including a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, enjoy Feb. 10-14, all weekend long (Friday through Tuesday).

     

    The five-course menu includes an amuse of Ahi Tuna Crudo with Taylor Shellfish Oyster Chowder and Dry Aged Beef Carpaccio; a Dungeness Crab Salad with Celery Root, Black Truffle, Green Apple and Blood Orange; Grilled Wild Sea Bass, with Asparagus, Saffron and Chorizo; and Grilled Dry Aged Beef Tenderloin, with Red Wine Wild Mushroom Sauce, Kale Pesto and Ash Roasted Potato.     Treat your loved one to a beautiful meal at Seattle’s iconic seafood restaurant for a Valentine’s celebration starting Feb. 10 going all the way through Feb. 14.     Ray’s Boathouse will offer a three-course menu with many decadent options for each course (all for $60; last seating at 10 p.m. on Valentine’s Day). These native bivalves, which take five years to mature, were first introduced in 1983 at Ray’s by oyster aficionado Jon Rowley.     Situated in a craftsman house converted to restaurant, Tilth is a standard-bearing restaurant for New American cuisine prepared with certified-organic or wild ingredients, offering a four-course Valentine’s dinner with optional wine pairings (available Feb. 10 – 11 and Tues., Feb. 14).

     

    Choose from such first course options as Shugoku Oysters with blood orange pearl and cucumber; a salad of Red Beets Tartare or Skagit River Ranch Beef Tongue.     Adopt the language of love for a night with Agrodolce’s Southern Italian and Sicilian fare in a special three-course menu or four-course vegetarian menu Feb. 10-12 and Feb. 14.

     

    The sharable menu starts with Grilled Octopus Tentacle, celery root, grilled endive, spicy pine nut and currant salsa verde. The second course includes Pugliese Style Burrata; followed by Aspen Hollow Lamb with roasted grapes, oil cured olives and rosemary balsamic glaze; concluded with Chocolate Polenta Cake.

    Cafe Flora is offering a delicious four-course Valentine’s Day menu that’s not only masterfully vegetarian, it’s also available as vegan and gluten-free.

    A lively, lovely Valentine’s date happens at Pioneer Square’s favorite spot for German beer and cuisine, Altstadt. Festivities begin Feb. 10 and continue through Feb. 14, starting with a delicious collaboration with Intrigue Chocolates.

     

    Sample a German beer and chocolate flight ($12) including four chocolates and four beers. Included is Intrigue’s brandy and cherry truffle, created exclusively for Altstadt.
