  • Tilth Celebrates 11 Years This Weekend 08.31.17

    Tilth is Maria Hines’ first restaurant, which opened in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle in September 2006. With a long standing commitment to seasonal and organic products, the bounty of the Northwest allows her to be inspired by the culinary resources available. Maria has spent over a decade immersing herself in New American cuisine prepared with certified-organic and wild ingredients, sourced from as many local farmers as they’re able to support.

     



    With nods of recognition throughout Tilth’s journey, including James Beard Award Best Northwest Chef and a coveted spot on Frank Bruni’s New York Times list of best new restaurants in the country, it’s time to celebrate their 11 year mark! 11 years of serving up beautiful, delicious, and award-winning certified organic cuisine.

     

    As a thank you to those who have made Tilth successful over the years, guests are invited to partake in a celebration of summer with a specially designed 8-course Grand Tasting menu with wine pairings, available September 1-3 2017. This special menu includes:

     

    Watermelon Salad, ricotta salata, red shiso, pepita

    Wild Sockeye Salmon, corn, summer squash, black garlic – Vegetarian features Roasted Abalone Mushroom

    Grass-fed Beef Striploin, alvarez farms potato, eggplant puree, greens

    Housemade Gnocchi, cherry tomato, squash blossom-walnut pesto, labneh

    Theo Chocolate Ganache Cake

  • Pho Cyclo Cafe’s New Summer Menu + New Day Northwest Appearance 07.19.13

    Summer has finally arrived in Seattle and with that comes later dinners, grilled foods and lighter fare. Pho Cyclo Cafe dishes up all of these with their new summer menu. While it’s easy to find chopped salads, burgers and grilled items all over the area, taste the spice and variety afforded by Vietnamese cuisine at all four Pho Cyclo locations!

    Summer Specials and Lighter Fare:

    1) Grilled Salmon in an apple-pear marinade – served with rice noodle or steamed rice and side salad

    2) Black sesame spicy noodle salad – wide egg noodles tossed with toasted black sesame, bean sprouts, cabbage, carrots, and cucumber in sriracha soy vinaigrette, served cold

    3) Spicy mint and lemongrass chicken Banh Mi – French baguette, satay spicy lemon grass chicken, lettuce, mint leaves, pickled onions, and jalapeno

    4) Honey Iced Tea

    5) Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Salad

    6) Tofu Salad – stir–fried tofu on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumber

    7) Bun (rice noodle dishes) in nearly 15 varieties including pork, shrimp, pineapple and grilled shrimp, tofu, chicken and beef and served with fresh leaf lettuce, herbs, bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, daikon, peanuts and Nuoc Mam.

    8) Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp, pork chicken or tofu

    The menu is created by chef-owner Taylor Hoang, who you can see talking about summer menu items and showcasing tips for making your own Vietnamese Spring Rolls on KING 5’s New Day Northwest earlier this week (video below).

    This weekend you can taste these items and more at the Bite of Seattle. Taylor and her crew are just southeast of the fountain at Seattle Center.
