  • It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere: Best Happy Hours in Seattle! 07.30.14

Finally, the Seattle sun is out and there is no better time to catch up with friends or unwind after a long day of work than by enjoying a warm Seattle evening. Seattle is a haven for great happy hours and delectable bites, but which direction should you head next time you’re looking for those worthwhile deals? We’ve compiled a list of our favorite summertime spots to enjoy delicious eats and a refreshing sip… or two!

    Cafe Flora

Cafe Flora, voted “Best Vegetarian Restaurant of 2014” by Seattle Magazine and “Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the US” by Travel + Leisure, offers beverage specials Monday through Friday, 3-6 p.m. Enjoy a local draft beer for only $3, or selected Washington wine or rotating craft cocktail specials for $6. Pair your drink with small plates or entrees off the dinner menu. Favorite late summer dishes include heirloom tomato panzanella salad, grilled focaccia, heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, spinach, grilled sweet corn, cucumbers, red onion, fresh mozzarella, dill vinaigrette; plum pistachio pizza, pistachio pesto, plums, ricotta cheese, fresh arugula; pate platter, with lentil-pecan pate, red onion confit, olives, pickles, croccantini, fresh fruit; and zucchini fritters, with parmesan cheese and chives.

    Fonté Café

Just getting off work downtown? Head over to Fonté Café on First Avenue any day from 3-6 p.m. to enjoy their latest happy hour menu! For just $7 or less, feast on a menu of European café fare, including Arancini with parmesan and arrabiata; housemade Meatballs with beef, pork, pine nuts, tomato sauce, house brioche; and Pappardelle Bolognese, made from housemade pasta, beef, pork and veal. In addition to European bites and signature coffee roasting, Fonté Café also offers hand-selected and carefully crafted drinks at the wine bar. Satisfy those sweet java cravings with the signature Espresso Martini with vodka, orange curacao, crème de cocoa, cream, sugar and Fonte’s own fresh espresso beans, roasted right in Georgetown. A thoughtfully curated list of summer wines featuring red, white, rose and bubbles as well as draft beers, and well drinks, are only $5 during happy hour.

    Maria Hines Restaurants
It pays to be green, especially when it comes to organic foods at happy hour! If you’re looking for nourishing, organic, and sustainable meal options, visit one of Maria Hines’ restaurants, all organically certified by Oregon Tilth, an unaffiliated organization that promotes sustainability. Happy hour meals and drink items at Maria Hines Restaurants are all priced at an agreeable $8 or less.

    Agrodolce

Located right in the heart of Seattle’s lively Fremont neighborhood, Agrodolce offers up some of Seattle’s finest Southern Italian and Sicilian cuisine. Stop by for happy hour daily, from 4-6 p.m. and indulge in the grass fed Mini Lamb Burger, with Dijon mustard, mostarda, and polenta fries; Crispy Sunchokes, with tuna tonnato and bacon salt; and the light and refreshing Arugula and Watercress, served with grana padano, Meyer lemon, and almond. Viva Italia, all while enjoying a certified organic meal in the bar or on the patio just off Fremont Ave.

    Golden Beetle

Golden Beetle in Ballard serves delicious Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, and the happy hour menu is nothing short of divine. Served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. daily and all night in the bar and on the patio Sunday-Thursday, you’ll make Golden Beetle part of your weekly (or daily) regimen! The cocktail specials are out of this world. Sip on a Beetle Bug, not an actual bug, but a sweet, fruity concoction fashioned with vodka, fruit puree, lemon, and soda water; or on the contrary, taste the zesty flavors of the Charmoula Cocktail, made with cava, lemon, and charmoula syrup. Pair your beverage with savory food, such as the popular Fire & Honey Chicken Wings, the award-winning Spiced French Fries (fried in beef fat) or the Mini Vegetable Pizza with sunchoke puree and mama lil’s peppers. Towards the end of your meal, mix it up and grab dessert because you deserve it! Swoon over the Spiced Donuts, with honey syrup, cardamom, and cinnamon, for only $4.

    Tilth

Enjoy organic new American cuisine from Tilth’s brand new summer happy hour menu, served daily from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Never offered before, this new happy hour menu brings flavorful and appetizing French Breakfast Radishes, with tarragon butter and San Juan sea salt; or the famed Mini Duck Burger, with housemade ketchup, fingerling potato, and mustard. Indulge in organic and sustainable Steak Tartare with grilled romaine, and French breakfast radish. You can even take your happy hour outside and enjoy a refreshing summer cocktail out on the garden patio. Sip on the refreshing Pimm’s Cup, Lillet Sparkler, or Lavender Daiquiri, just to name a few. Happy hour menu changes monthly.

    Shanik

Head over to Seattle Mag’s “Best Indian Restaurant of 2014,” Shanik, in South Lake Union, for a happy hour comprised of modern Indian bites. Shanik’s recently installed patio provides the perfect opportunity to relax outdoors and indulge in unique and flavor-filled menu items for only $5 each. Perfect for the warm weather we’ve been having– cool down with a draft beer, featured wine or cocktail, also for only $5. Enjoy Shanik’s appetizing happy hour out on the new patio, or inside at the bar.

Nothing says happy hour like a Seattle summer. After a long day of work, take a moment to relax at any one of our favorites places across Seattle: Cafe Flora, Fonté Café, Agrodolce, Golden Beetle, Tilth, or Shanik! Each restaurant provides their own unique happy hour experience coupled with flavorful bites, sips, and unbeatable prices.
