Bourbon enthusiasts and Washington distillery fans showed up bright and early (even overnight) for the Seattle sale of the first bourbon in the state! 45 minutes, a steady stream of customers, a camera crew from KING 5 and 240 bottles later and Dry Fly’s highly-coveted bourbon sold out!
For those lucky few that read reports, lined up early and got their hands on a bottle – congrats! According to early reports, critic reviews and Dry Fly Facebook fans, the bourbon is a sure crowd pleaser!
If you were one of the many that didn’t get a bottle, well, the bad news is that it will be two more years before the next batch of bourbon makes its way to the liquor stores. However, there is good news! There are still 6 bottles up for sale. Yes, still 6 bottles to satisfy your craving for this beautiful bourbon for 2 more years – and for an amazing cause! The guys at Dry Fly have generously donated the first 6 bottles that they produced to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Barrel #1, Batch #1, Bottles #1-6 signed by the master distillers are currently up for bid on E-bay, here! The bids are already rolling in so bid fast and check back often as the bottles will be closing August 15-16. The winning bids will all be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities to provide lodging and support services for families traveling to Spokane seeking specialized medical care for their ill children. Dry Fly is holding a First Taste event and fundraiser on Friday, August 5 at the Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle. Not only is it a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Chairities and Casting 4 A Cure, but they’ll be auctioning off a bourbon package, raffling off spots so you don’t have to stand in line two days in advance to get your bottle, and the best part – you get to be the first to taste the bourbon that will forever live as Washington’s first bourbon!

DRY FLY DISTILLING RELEASES FIRSTWASHINGTON STATE PRODUCED BOURBON
Fundraiser and First Taste Release August 5; Retail August 6
In a state that is quickly growing with handcrafted distilleries, Dry Fly Distilling, the state’s first craft distillery since prohibition, is paving the way once again with the first Washington state produced bourbon. Dry Fly bourbon, aged for three years and with limited production, will be released in Spokane on July 30 and in Seattle on August 6. Longtime Dry Fly charity affiliates, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Casting 4 A Cure, will partner in a special release event and auction fundraiser on August 5 at the Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle.
The long awaited release of Dry Fly bourbon reflects a three year aging process in American Oak and a limited, 480 bottle production. The bourbon is produced with only Washington state products, which continues the Dry Fly company philosophy of local farm to bottle production. This unique bourbon with its quality viscosity has bold palate appeal and a strong finish balanced with hints of Madagascar vanilla and intricate spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel and dried orange peel. The approachability of this 101 proof bourbon is found in its makeup of 60% corn, 20% malted barley and 20% malted wheat. Dry Fly Bourbon will retail only at Dry Fly Distilling in Spokane and Interbay Liquor Store in Seattle with each location allotted 240 bottles. Dry Fly Bourbon will retail for $64.95.
In anticipation of the bourbon, Master Distillers and Dry Fly owners Kent Fleischmann and Don Poffenroth will be holding a First Taste Bourbon Release Event on Friday, August 5, at the Mayflower Park Hotel from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The event will focus around the first taste of Dry Fly Bourbon, which every attendee is guaranteed. The release event is a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities and Casting 4 A Cure, both child-focused non-profits. A Dry Fly Bourbon package with a bottle of bourbon, specialty glassware, a flask, etc. will be auctioned off for charity. A raffle will also be held with ten winners receiving a guaranteed bottle of Dry Fly Bourbon, reserved just for them. Specialty hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails made with Dry Fly gin, vodka and whiskey will be included in the partially tax deductible $75 ticket. Reservations are required by emailing DryFly@evadopr.com. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at www.rmhcspokane.org. Mayflower Park Hotel is located at 405 Olive Way, Seattle, WA 98101.
Dry Fly Distilling will be giving away two tickets to its August 5 First Taste Bourbon Release to the most unique bourbon cocktail recipe submitted to their Facebook page through Sunday, July 31. One winner will be selected and given two tickets to the event.
Bourbon enthusiasts can purchase Dry Fly Bourbon in three ways:
1) July 30, 8 a.m. – Spokane release event at Dry Fly Distilling, 1003 E Trent # 200, Spokane, WA 99202. One bottle limit per person.
2) August 6, 10 a.m. – Interbay Liquor Store, 1827 15th Ave. W., Seattle, WA 98119. Master distillers and owners Kent Fleischmann and Don Poffenroth will be on-site to sign bottles and raffle Dry Fly giveaways. Customers are encouraged to arrive early; only 240 bottle available.
3) August 6, 3 p.m. – For those that want a guaranteed bottled of Dry Fly Bourbon, the highly collectible Barrel #1, Batch #1, Bottles 1-6 signed by the distiller, will auctioned off online to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities and Casting 4 A Cure. Like anyone, we love what we love and we have long admired and enjoyed our latest client, Dry Fly Distilling! Whether sipping on the rocks, classic in a martini or balanced in a handcrafted cocktail, we are huge fans of Dry Fly gin, vodka and whiskey and now we are their official evangelists, too!
