• Alaska Herring Week Starts Today! 06.19.17

    We are proud to announce that two of our clients, Ray’s Boathouse and Tilth are both participating in Alaska Herring Week June 19 – 25.

    Ray’s will be serving crispy fried herring filet, potato blini, pickled radish, and tarragon cream for dinner in the Boathouse.

    Ray’s has also provided the recipe should you decide to try your hand at cooking herring at home! You can find the recipe here.

    Chef Maria Hines and her team at Tilth have created a recipe for smoked herring paté served with house pickles, frisée salad, and radishes. You can find the recipe here.

    Alaska Herring, though consumed all over the rest of the world, has yet to reach that same level of popularity in America. Alaska Herring Week is here to put that fish on the map! It boasts more omega 3s than salmon, and is packed with flavor. Despite what you may have heard, herring can be served in more ways than just briny pickled herring.
